Silicone Pads (double set with two variants)

The Poldauer silicone pad is the ultimate pad that fixes itself to all possible surfaces, even if the varnish is not very smooth or regular. The Poldauer shoulder rest's suction sup attaches itself relaibly to the silicone. Silicone is a totally inert material, that does not react with the varnish. The 1mm thick round foil with a diammter of 7cm needs to be cleaned with water before use and is attached with a very slight touch of remainig moisture to the Instrument where is can be left.

The other variant in the pack is a silicone foil coated with microfoam (microfoam may contain chemical solvents) on the side that you attach to the instrument. The soft microfoam is adhesive to all kinds of surfaces and fixes itself reliably. If you take the pad off regularly, both the foam or the silcone need to be cleaned from time to time.

When do I need the silicone pad?

Das silicone pad is ideal for you, if

(1) the varnish is very old and slightly uneven;

(2) if you would like to regularly remove the foil or change the positioning of the rest

(3) if you prefer the inert and pure silicone to the (solvent-free) plastic TPU foil

(4) the milky look on your vioin does not disturb you

The TPU foil that automatically comes with the Poldauer rest is perfectly adequate

(1) if the varnish is in a good condition

(2) if the instrument's back is not too bent

(3) you do not want to remove the foil, i.e. change the placement of the poldauer rest

(4) if you want the foil not to be visible.
